Christmas 2009
11th year
Join us this year for the 11th Year. Jeff is busy putting on Benefits, and knocking on doors.
Jeff Madewell has created a website for the Rosebud Reservation Clothing, Toy and Food Drive that is currently under construction www.christmasforrosebud.com but is a great place for more information about what this man, his family and community have proven works when one is driven to help others selflessly with the only reward being the smiles on the faces of those needing help.
Please note that ALL Donations , Monetary and otherwise are used 100% for this. No 1 person gains any money or goods for their Volunteer Work. Here is the finest example of helping with No regard of any personal gain.
Surely there are others out there wanting to help those within our country that need genuine help. Is this something you, your community, Church, Business or other group can do? Helping others just for the sake of helping? This is the True Meaning of the Lakota term Okisiapo (helping each other)
You can also make donations through PayPal we will be setting up a link through Essencial Dreams Store.
100% of the money is used for purchasing more Toys, Clothing, Food, Propane etc.
Want to know what's needed? http://www.christmasforrosebud.com/ItemsNeeded.htm
Free and easy ways you can really help!
Sort items into bags or boxes
marked "men, women, boys, girls, baby, toys, books, bedding," etc.
The effort is very appreciated. A small group of volunteers sort and pack
everything in just a few hours, and this makes the process go a lot faster.
If you travel,
save the free items that hotels provide
Shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, coffee and other complimentary items are
included with your room rental, so keep and donate them if you don't use them.
We have to say it again
...
Please make sure that any used donations are in very good condition. We have
no opportunity to clean or repair donations before we pack them. If items
are dirty, stained or broken, we have to discard them.
Organize your own drive to
gather items for this effort:
Every year, schools, churches, business and individuals gather donations or
raise money by simply asking people to help.
Here are some ideas
people came up with that had great results:
- Posted a flyer at work; told co-workers and friends about the drive - Teachers
have rallied their students to bring in money and other donations - Have a
child shop for a gift for someone their age to instill the joy in giving
Items can be sent to:
